LAR @ SEA –
We predicted LAR to win based off of our equation. However, we forgot to include the home-field advantage that the Seahawks have. CenturyLink field is known to be extra loud compared to other stadiums. In the end, the Rams put up a fight. 29-30 isn’t anywhere near a blowout.
NYJ @ PHI – PHI
This is a no-brainer. The Eagles are more skilled than the Jets. They did win the 2018 Super Bowl, but it was the team’s first time. However, they still are better than the Jets with a knockout 31-6.
JAX @ CAR – CAR
The Panthers beat the Jags in a possession game (34-27). The Panthers will now enter week 6 with a record of 3-2, whereas the Jaguars enter with a 2-3 record.
MIN @ NYG –
MIN won a 28-10 game against the NYG. Prior to the game, the Giants allowed a whopping 279.5 passing yards on average a game and 109.8 rushing yards on average per game versus the Vikings’s 218.5 passing yards and 94.2 rushing. However, the Giants gained an average 274.2 passing yards a game and 129 rushing yards. They were sure to make some progress against the Vikings. Comparatively, the Vikings made 169 passing yards but 155.2 rushing yards on average. MIN rushing game can’t beat NYG rushing defense.
ATL @ HOU – HOU
HOU knocked out ATL with a high scoring game of 53-32. Both teams have low ranked defenses but are able to get yards.
TB @ NO – NO
Arguably, TB has a slightly better defense and offense than NO. We gave TB a defensive score of 10.772 and NO a 9.699. Offensively, NO had a lower score of 586.35 leaving TB with 673.9.95. Going into the game, TB was ranked 9th for passing yards and 15th for rushing. But factoring in their records, NO was a sure winner.
BUF @ TEN – BUF
The Bills are a surprise for this year. They are doing quite well for being them. After this game, they have won 80% of their games this season with a record 4-1. TEN is now 2-3 after their week 5 game. They were well evenly matched. Both have good defenses that clearly performed during the game. The game ended with a low scoring 14-7 BUF.
ARI @ CIN – ARI
Going into the game, neither team had won a game this season, so one of them was bound for their first W of the season. Our equation gave ARI an 80.879 and CIN a 67.672, predicting ARI would end up on top. And they did. The game ended 26-23. Now, the Cardinals are 1-3-1 leaving the Bengals 0-5 for week 6.
NE @ WAS – NE
Unless you’re from New England, you probably either don’t like the Patriots or you couldn’t care less about them. But they are an established team. Belichick is known for being a second half coach. But the Patriots scored in all four quarters. But Washington is just having no luck this year. NE enters week 6 with a 5-0 record, and WAS enters with a 0-5.
BAL @ PIT – BAL
We were sure Baltimore would win. And sure enough, they did. They won 26-23 in OT. The two teams managed to keep pace with one another throughout the game.
CHI @ OAK –
This was a surprise. Chicago lost to Oakland. You can always count on the Raiders scoring and gaining yards. With the Raiders ahead 17-0 by start of 3rd quarter, the Bears needed to improve their defense. And that they did. They held of the Raiders and scored 21 points in the 3rd quarter. Unfortunately, luck seemed to run out too fast. In the 4th, the Raiders scored again, leaving the behind Bears 24-21.
DEN @ LAC –
Denver was bound to win at some time. But surprisingly, they won against the Los Angeles Chargers. They had opportunities for a W with JAC and OAK, yet the managed to pull one from LAC. The Chargers had a better defense compared to the Broncos, and they even gained more yards on average per game than the Broncos. In the end, the Broncos won with a 20-13 game.
GB @ DAL – GB
We predicted this game to be a good one. The Packers and Cowboys were evenly matched. And the Packers won with a 10 point cushion (34-24).
IND @ KC –
Going into this week, KC was one of the undefeated teams, but the Colts changed that. The Colts upset the Chiefs by 6 points. They left with a nice 19-13. You could thank the Colts’ defense to holding back the Chiefs.
CLE @ SF – SF
This is looking to be SF’s come-back year. With Garoppolo back this season, the Niners and coming off a bye week, Cleveland stood no chance. SF trampled over the Browns in a 31-3 game. SF will enter week 6 the only undefeated team in the NFC.
