Week 12 Recaps

IND @ HOU – HOU

Last time these two met, IND won by seven. This time, HOU won by three and became #1 in the AFC South. After trailing by four in the third quarter, the Texans scored a touchdown that the Colts just couldn’t answer.

MIA @ CLE – CLE

At halftime, CLE lead 28-3 only to have MIA answer 14 of those points in the third quarter. CLE won with a high scoring 41-24 game. In three quarters, they scored two touchdowns.

DET @ WAS – WAS

Driskel and the Lions were down by seven at halftime, then tied the game in the third quarter. Tied at 16’s with seconds left on the clock, WAS scores a field goal and pulls ahead to 19-16 with 16 seconds on the clock.

OAK @ NYJ – NYJ

OAK was only able to score a field goal in the first quarter. The rest of the game, the Jets led the way. They scored three touchdowns in the third quarter and led by 31 points. At the end of the third, OAK seemed to give up, and Carr was pulled.

NYG @ CHI – CHI

The Bears won…finally…19-14 against the Giants. Their strong third quarter when they scored 16 points led to the win. CHI’s offense had a bad first half. Trubisky had some good plays but were hurt by dropped passes.

CAR @ NO – NO

They seemed to volley points – one team would score, the other scores. Points were constantly answered throughout the game. At 1:56 fourth quarter, CAR missed a field goal that would have brought them ahead. Instead, in the last three seconds of the game, NO gets a field goal winning 34-31.

SEA @ PHI – SEA

SEA win 9-2 and keeps the heat on the 49ers. In the slow game, the Seahawks keep the Eagles to nine points.

TB @ ATL – TB

Looks like the Falcons impressive games has ended. After beating the Saints and the Panthers, the Falcons struggled against the Buccs. They were down by nine at the half. They entered the two minute warning with 35-16 TB. Despite ATL scoring in the last two minutes, TB won 35-22.

DEN @ BUF – BUF

Frank Gore passed Barry Sanders for third place in most career rushing yards. Gore has 15,273 career rush yards. Denver barely managed a field goal, and Buffalo consistently scored throughout the game leading to their win and becoming 8-3.

PIT @ CIN – PIT

By fourth quarter, both teams had their backup backup quarterbacks playing. No scores in the first quarter and a battle of the third string quarterbacks. Somehow, the Steelers won 16-10. CIN is still winless with a record of 0-11.

JAX @ TEN – TEN

The third quarter was the highest scoring with a total of 36 points from both teams, and TEN scored 28 of those. They won with more than twice the points JAX had with a 42-20 win.

DAL @ NE – NE

One of the strongest offenses against one of the strongest defenses led to a low scoring game. The Patriots held the Cowboys to nine points while scoring 13 themselves. Normally, New England is a second half team, meaning they score more in the second half of the game, but this time, it was all front loaded. NE scored 10 points in the first half, so they got three in the second. And DAL had six in the first and 3 in the second.

GB @ SF – SF

SF shut out GB. Ending with a game 37-8, the Niners are now 10-1. At halftime, they were up by 23, and finally let the Packers score in the third quarter. But they held them to eight points.

BAL @ LAR

The Ravens destroyed the Rams 45-6. And those six points were from two field goals, not even a touchdown. BAL made six touchdowns and one field goal, and they stay #2 in the AFC right behind the Patriots.
