While on loan from Huddersfield Town, Aaron Mooy impressed Brighton and Hove Albion enough to sign on permanently.
Austrailian-native and midfielder Mooy formerly played for Melbourne City and Huddersfield initially joined Brighton in the summer, helping them secure a win from Derby. His impressive performance led to a deal lasting three and a half years until 2023 for a reported £5m (approx. $6.5m). Several other Premier League clubs have been interested in the midfielder, and Brighton moved to land the Mooy before a bidding war took place at the end of the season.Due to Fifa rules, Mooy cannot play for a third club in one season.
“I feel like I’ve progressed, but of course you can always improve and do more,” Mooy said. “It’s about playing well consistently, but I am quite happy because you never know what can happen when you move clubs. You have a new manager, teammates and a new environment to adapt to, but it’s been really good. I like the way we play and it’s enjoyable to be a part of.”
